Nelly Furtado announced details of new album

After much expectation from her fans and the music industry, Nelly revealed that her new album is set for release by next summer! Her fans from all around the world were ecstatic to know that she will be promoting it on tour for at least two years.

This album follows her Spanish language record “Mi Plan” and it seems Nelly is not abandoning her Latin side: she told her fans via Twitter she was listening to her latest track with renowed singer-songwriter and producer Tommy Torres. We are sure that her new material will be as innovative and exciting as everything Nelly does.

That is why her fans are already guessing what her new sound will be like: how many songs in English and in Spanish will it have? Will it resemble any of her previous albums or will it take a completely different direction? Will Nelstars everywhere be able dance to it and also be inspired? For now, Nelly let them know that her new work has evolved from “Lifestyle”, the name she had set for it.

The song “Una Sonrisa” is the third single, part of the musical production "Fotosintesis" by Mexican singer-songwriter Jaime Kohen. This song, like his former singles, resulted in the creation of a videoclip that we and the fans waited anxiously. To promote it on social networks, we develop a contest of expectation where all his fans would send a photo with their best smile. This initiative succeeded in collecting more than 300 photos.

Subsequent to this expectation campaign, we created two initiatives interesting and fun for the fans that were of great importance for his growth in networks; the first was to promise fans a Twitcam with Jaime Kohen if the number of followers in Twitter would reach 11000, a figure that was achieved in less than 3 weeks, given the fact that James was only followed by approximately 9500 people. The second initiative was developing an auction on Twitter by naming the users of Facebook and Twitter for stations that know and use hash tag or label # UnaSonrisa in each publication. More than 13000 publications on Facebook and Twitter networks during the two weeks of the auction were registered, and in consequence the song "Una Sonrisa" was transmitted in various radio stations in the Mexican country.

During the month of expectation and launch of the video clip, Jaime Kohen networks increased by more than 8,000 fans in the two networks (Twitter and Facebook), a very significant figures for this young artist who since only until very recently performed as a musical artist.

Duina del Mar at the 2011 Telethon

Duina (associate of the house) will be performing at the event to be held the evening of Friday 16 December to Saturday 17 near Santiago Cruz (composer of the song from Telethon 2011), Arsenal with urban music, the young Maluma and Naela. Toward dawn we will see the special combinations of Reykon with Pipe Calderon, and Katamaran with Jiggy Drama.

Duina joins this year the Telethon to help the victims of the winter in Colombia; you can also help this worthy cause by supporting this initiative.

On November 6, Nicaraguan singer Luis Enrique offered a show to more than 25,000 fans who attended the city of Hailea, Florida, and sang each of his songs with the best Latin flavor of the artist.

This is the 9th anniversary celebrating the show prior to the Latin Grammy in Las Vegas; it was an event produced by the Academy of Latin Music and Univision, among others. Among the artists who accompanied Luis Enrique are "Los 3 de la Habana" and "Gocho". After the presentation Luis Enrique finished his show with the words: “It was a pleasure to participate in these festivities that the Academy offers to begin to heat engines on eve of this great night which recognizes the talent within the Latin Music Industry. I had a great time and I was proud to receive the affection of all my Latino brothers gathered there. Hialeah clapped and danced my show, what else can I ask.” The Nicaraguan singer is promoting his latest production label "Soy and Seré", which has allowed sharing with United States fans and audiences at the international level. Significantly, the hits “Dame de tu boca” and “Locos los dos” were in Puerto Rico Top song and the Hashtag #Yonosemañana was trending topic in Mexico during the last week of October.

Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado participated this week on the Scotiabank Giller Prize ceremony, that each year highlights the best of her country's literature. She presented Half-Blood Blues, the book written by Esi Edugyan, the winning nominee. The story, that Nelly called "a beautiful song conceived in prose" that consumed her when reading it, follows 3 black musicians from 1940's Berlin to an occupied France in their journey to evade the nazis.

Nelly herself was praised this week by flamenco singer Antonio Carmona, with whom she collaborated on his song 'Camino de los sueños', from his latest album 'De Noche'. Carmona said "it was wonderful working with her because behind that beautiful face there's an excellent songwriter. (She) is elegant, down to earth and, like me, enjoys our profession and our music"

For several weeks an expectation campaign was launched to convey followers of the Ricky Martin Foundation to register their email address in www.guerrerosdeluz.org.

Today, November 11, 2011 is the day where it will be revealed what this initiative is all about and to begin to give some clues you can see a video in which a series of figures highlight the magnitude of the problem of trafficking and exploitation of children and people in the world. The objective is to keep the cause active and make it visible with complaints. To promote these actions is characteristic of both Ricky Martin and his foundation and the best strategy is to include ordinary people to make them more and more aware. This is why in the video Ricky Martin describes what is to be a Warrior of Light: "…is defined by his honor, his courage, and our aim is to make justice and find peace for those who have lost their freedom, you're a Warrior of Light and I am counting on you."
